Course Information

To provide delegates with a thorough understanding of confined spaces, the associated legislation, approved code of practice (ACOP), dangers associated with confined spaces and the ability to enter, work and leave them safely by horizontal and/or vertical entry.

Who Should Attend?

This course is for persons who need to understand the risks associated with Low /Medium risk confined spaces and may plan, enter, work in and exit confined spaces using Escape Set breathing apparatus (open or closed circuit).

Joining Instructions

Specific Entry and Working in Confined Spaces joining instructions will be supplied to you (if appropriate) once your booking is confirmed. If, once confirmation has been received, you are in anyway unsure of what prerequisites or items you need to bring or provide, then your dedicated training manager or the trainer conducting your course will be able to confirm this with you. Contact numbers and ways to get in touch will be provided.

Course Agenda

At the end of the course, delegates will be able to identify confined spaces in the workplace and understand relevant regulations and expectations for individuals and organizations. They will also learn how to conduct risk assessments according to organizational criteria.

Delegates will be able to identify and select appropriate personal protective equipment PPE and complete a before-use inspection, following manufacturer guidelines. They will also learn how to identify and control hazards found within confined spaces.

During the course, delegates will learn how to safely enter a confined space using appropriate control measures and complete a working task. They will also be trained on how to exit a confined space safely.

The course will cover topics such as confined space identification, regulations and expectations, risk assessments, PPE selection and inspection, hazard identification and control, safe entry and exit procedures. Delegates will also have the opportunity to practice these skills in a simulated confined space environment.
