Who Should Attend?

Those who work in low risk confined spaces. A low risk confined space exists when there is easy entry/exit, no risk of flooding and adequate natural or mechanical ventilation. Low risk confined spaces would be associated with lone working, requiring the application of appropriate procedures.

Joining Instructions

This is a physical course so candidates will need to be aware of that. Standard PPE of hard hat, high-viz, gloves and boots is required. As the course provides hands on knowledge by using our mobile unit the candidates may wish to have overalls

Course Agenda

The 1-day working in low risk Confined Space training course covers the Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 and Approved Code of Practice, as well as the identification and control of risks. Participants will also learn about Weils Disease and sewage decontamination, and how to handle hazardous atmospheres and gas monitoring.

The course will also cover the risk assessment process and the operation of safe systems of work. Participants will be trained on the use of permit to work control measures and how to select suitable equipment for working in confined spaces. They will also learn about the importance of pre-use inspections and safe operation of equipment.

While the course will cover fall arrest systems in theory, the focus will be on emergency procedures. Participants will learn how to respond in case of an emergency while working in a confined space, ensuring their safety and the safety of others. By the end of the course, participants will have a thorough understanding of working in low risk confined spaces and will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to do so safely.

Keep left at the 21-Milnrow Interchange, following signs for A640/Milnrow/Shaw.
